Measuring for Roman Blinds

Inside Mount
Mounted within the window frame
The inside fit will block approximately 150mm of the top of the window when stacked, which will block light and view. For this reason, we do recommend an outside mount.

Measuring the Width:
Measure the inside width at 3 locations—the top, middle and bottom. Record the smallest of the 3 measurements. This is your ordering width.
(We will make the deductions needed to make the shade fit.)

Measuring the Height:
Measure the height at 3 locations—the left side, middle and right side. Record the largest of the 3 measurements. This is your ordering length.

Mounted surrounding the window
Measuring the width:
Measure the width of the area you wish to cover. If space allows, we recommend adding 10cm (5cm on each side) to this measurement to help eliminate light seepage. This is your ordering width.

Measuring the Height:
Measure from the top to the bottom of the frame. Add 150mm to this measurement to allow the blind to hang above the window without blocking light when opened. We recommend adding a further 50-100mm below the window to ensure complete window coverage. This is your ordering Height.Â
Outside Mount-method 2
Roman blind to sit along the top of a protruding sill. This method recommends for those windows that have a protruding sill.
Measuring the width:
Measure from and to the very outer edges of each side of the window frame—the top, middle and bottom. Record the smallest of the 3 measurements. This is your ordering width. This is your ordering width.Â

Measuring the Height:
Measure the drop at the left, middle and right, and use the largest of the three measurements. We recommend adding a further 50-100mm below the window to ensure complete window coverage. This is your ordering Height.Â
 Note: Make sure there are no obstructions that could prevent your blind from opening and closing.
